Houston fire officials say they are investigating the deaths of two firefighters who died when they went inside a burning home after neighbors told them no one was inside.
Assistant Fire Chief Rick Flanagan said the department, the State Fire Marshal’s Office and the National Institute for Occupational Safety and Health are looking into the deaths of 55-year-old Capt. James Harlow and 29-year-old probationary firefighter Damion Hobbs.
Neighbors of an elderly couple whose home caught fire on Easter said the two already had escaped when firefighters responded.
