Baseball trivia: The trivia question in the Totally Random column in Friday’s Sports section asked: “What are the six ways a batter can reach first base without hitting the ball? The answer was: hit by pitch, walk, intentional walk, catcher interference, third strike not caught cleanly and pinch-runner. The question should have asked for the six ways a player could reach base without hitting the ball, since a pinch-runner is not a batter.
