Two Navy sailors are being held in Mexico on charges of attempted murder after an altercation with two women described by Mexican authorities as prostitutes.
Petty Officer 2nd-class Joshua Dockery, 27, and Petty Officer 3rd-class Jarrett Monzingo, 22, were transferred this weekend from the Tijuana jail to Mexico’s La Mesa Prison. They were arrested after allegedly attacking the two women and a hotel security guard during a night of drinking in the city’s red-light district.
The two are receiving regular visits from Navy personnel, and the Navy is working with Mexican authorities, officials said.
