A teenage boy was shot dead Wednesday in a gang-related attack at a Santa Ana apartment complex, police said.
Officers responded to a report of a shooting in the 3000 block of South Sycamore Street about 4:10 p.m, said Santa Ana Police Cmdr. Tammy Franks. When they arrived in the courtyard of the building, they found a 16- or 17-year-old boy shot in the head and torso.
Paramedics declared him dead at the scene at 4:25 p.m. He has not been identified.
Witnesses reported hearing several gunshots. Police have no suspects.
