Why it matters: First place in the Sunset League is on the line as Los Alamitos tries to solidify its spot as one of the top teams in Orange County and in Division I-AA. The Griffins have won 16 consecutive games, including a 58-57 triumph over then-No. 7 Etiwanda last week. Marina is led by junior guard Brendan Holmes, the son of Vikings Coach Roger Holmes, who is averaging 23.9 points and has made 79 three-point shots this season.
