Unilever made its first foray into professional hair products by agreeing to buy the salon brands of TIGI from the creators of Toni & Guy hair salons for $411.5 million in cash.
The purchase from stylists Bruno, Guy and Anthony Mascolo and their brother Toni doesn’t include the Toni & Guy salon business, Unilever said. TIGI brands Bed Head, Catwalk and S-Factor will be added to Unilever personal care products including Dove, Axe for Men, Suave and Sunsilk.
