Turkey’s Prime Minister Recep Tayyip Erdogan stalked off the stage at the World Economic Forum red-faced after reproaching Israeli President Shimon Peres over the Gaza offensive by saying, “You kill people.”
Peres passionately defended Israel’s three-week offensive aimed at Hamas, launched in reaction to eight years of sporadic rocket fire at southern Israel. About 1,300 Palestinians and 13 Israelis died in the fighting.
