Two people were killed Saturday afternoon when the home-built single-engine plane in which they were flying crashed in the 27000 block of Triumph Avenue, according to the Los Angeles County Fire Department.
The home-built Lancair aircraft was registered to Ron I. Weiss, 43, of Encino, according to Federal Aviation Administration records.
Ian Gregor, an FAA spokesman, said he did not know where the flight had originated or where the plane had been headed. The FAA and the National Transportation Safety Board will investigate.
