Schmidt deserves some applause

I was so proud to be a Dodgers fan watching Jason Schmidt grind through five innings [Monday] to get his first win in years.
Too often we criticize the player for making all the money, forgetting someone obviously offered it to him. I don’t blame Schmidt, I still blame Ned Colletti as he knew what he was getting when he signed him.
I was proud because I know how much hard work Schmidt put in just to pitch again, much less at the big league level. He did not take the money and run.
He has probably worked harder in the last two years than any other Dodgers pitcher; unfortunately, his work is not on TV or reported.
