Insurance troubles resonate

Re: David Lazarus’ consumer column “Going broke for health coverage,” June 24:
I can totally sympathize with Susan and Stephen Perry, who were rejected by private health insurers. I quit my job to stay home with my children, never dreaming insurance would be an issue because we are all in good health.
But no one would insure me. I had undergone an unsuccessful fertility treatment, and it appears that insurance companies won’t give a woman insurance until five years after her last fertility treatment.
I think this is ironic given that no health insurance was provided to cover the fertility treatment, as it is excluded.
