Two men died, and a third was injured Sunday in possibly gang-related shootings that stretched from Echo Park to Highland Park, police said.
Police were trying to determine whether a man in a black pickup truck committed all three shootings and whether the incidents were related.
The first victim was fatally struck in the 1600 block of Baxter Street in Echo Park at 5:02 p.m., said Los Angeles Police Officer Karen Smith.
The second shooting occurred one minute later around the corner in the 2000 block of Echo Park Avenue. That victim was taken to a local hospital, where he was in stable condition, Smith said.
The final shooting took place 28 minutes later about four miles away in the 4300 block of Toland Way in Highland Park. The victim was pronounced dead at the scene.
The suspected shooter and all three victims are Latinos. Smith could not immediately provide the victims’ names or ages.
