Two men were fatally shot Sunday during a confrontation in an alley that may have been gang-related, police said.
The shootings occurred about 2:10 p.m. as two groups of men were fighting near the 2000 block of Del Amo Boulevard. One group opened fire on the other, striking the two victims, said Long Beach Police Officer Jackie Bezart.
One man died at the scene, near the intersection of Del Amo Boulevard and Cherry Avenue. The second man was taken to a hospital, where he died, Bezart said.
Meanwhile, a 15-month-old child and an adult man were in serious but stable condition Sunday after a shooting that appeared be gang-related, police said. Bezart said she did not know if the child was the man’s daughter but said the victims were shot about 10:50 Saturday night in the 1600 block of Sherman Place.
Officers responding to the shooting found the victims in a courtyard; they were taken to an area hospital, Bezart said. Police are searching for two suspects in the shooting.
