It’s a book deal for Blagojevich

CHICAGO — First he was charged with trying to sell a U.S. Senate seat. Now ousted Illinois Gov. Rod Blagojevich is trying to sell a book about it.
Blagojevich’s publicity agent announced Monday that the impeached governor would receive an undisclosed “six figure” sum to pen a book about the “dark side of politics.”
Blagojevich faces federal charges that he tried to sell the U.S. seat relinquished by President Obama in exchange for campaign donations or other favors. The charges were the catalyst for an impeachment trial by lawmakers who removed him from office a little more than a month ago. Blagojevich says he’s innocent but has declined to discuss the accusations in detail.
The book, tentatively titled “The Governor,” is scheduled for an October release by Beverly Hills-based independent publisher Phoenix Books.
