Three men who prosecutors say played key roles in an elaborate wiretapping scheme by Hollywood private detective Anthony Pellicano were sentenced to federal prison Tuesday afternoon.
One by one each of Pellicano’s co-defendants stood before U.S. District Judge Dale S. Fischer as she read their sentences.
Former LAPD Sgt. Mark Arneson, who barely flinched as Fischer and Assistant U.S. Atty. Daniel Saunders scorned him for his dishonesty and disloyalty to law enforcement, was sentenced to 10 years and one month in federal prison.
Rayford Earl Turner, a former phone technician who provided phone company information to Pellicano, was also sentenced to 10 years and one month.
Abner Nicherie, 44, was sentenced to 21 months.
The three men were ordered to undergo three years of supervised release after their prison terms.
In December, Pellicano was sentenced to 15 years in prison.
