THE $6.25 DEAL: Primm, Nevada
Love Vegas? How about the Not Quite Ready for Prime Time Vegas, otherwise known as Primm? No? Would you feel differently if your room were less than $50 a night -- and we mean way less?
The deal: Buffalo Bill’s -- the place with the roller coaster and the buffalo-shaped pool -- is 48 miles southwest of the Vegas Strip in Primm, the first place you hit in Nevada after crossing the California state line. You can grab a room here for $6.25 a night Sundays through Thursdays on selected dates, at least through the end of April. (April 12 to 19 appears to be sold out.) Prices on weekends are about five to seven times higher than that -- but consider that five times $6.25 is still only $31.25 (Fridays) and seven times is $43.75 (Saturdays). Bill’s isn’t the only bargain at Vegas.com, but it is the lowest we found. Others we peeked at for March 23 to April 1: a one-night rate of $28.21 at the Tropicana; $69.98 at the Luxor; $96 at Caesar’s; $169 at the Encore; and $56 at the Rio.
