A 15-year-old boy was shot and killed late Friday night while attending a house party, authorities said.
The shooting was reported about 11:20 p.m. in the 700 block of South McDonnell Avenue, near Whittier Boulevard, said Deputy Aura Sierra of the L.A. County Sheriff’s Department. The teen, identified by coroner officials as Jessy Acosta, got into a fight at the party with a man between the ages of 17 and 21, authorities said.
The man pulled out a handgun and shot Jessy in the upper torso, then fled, Sierra said. Paramedics pronounced Jessy dead at the scene, coroner officials said.
