Orwin Smith returned a kickoff 83 yards for Georgia Tech. The Blue Devils had minus-one yard rushing through three quarters and finished with 25.
at North Carolina 33, No. 12 Miami 24: Kendric Burney returned one of his three interceptions for a 77-yard touchdown and his third pick resulted in a bizarre fourth-quarter score that helped the Tar Heels beat the Hurricanes.
No. 20 Virginia Tech 36, at Maryland 9: Tyrod Taylor threw for 268 yards and a career-high three touchdowns, and the Hokies built an early 24-point lead before coasting. Freshman Ryan Williams ran for 126 yards and scored his 12th touchdown.
No. 24 Clemson 43, at North Carolina State 23: C.J. Spiller became the first player in Clemson history to record a touchdown passing, rushing and receiving in the same game.
Florida State 41, at Wake Forest 28: Jermaine Thomas rushed for 149 yards and a touchdown, E.J. Manuel was effective in his first career start, and the Seminoles kept their bowl hopes alive.
Boston College 14, at Virginia 10: Dave Shinskie’s one-yard sneak on fourth down gave the Eagles the lead and they handed the Cavaliers their fourth straight loss.
