Update: The Ducks say they are grateful for their upcoming seven-game homestand. They are coming off a 0-3-1 performance on the road last week and rank near the bottom of the NHL in goals given up (3.37 per game) and penalty killing (74.2%). With the Ducks already 19 games deep into the season, goaltender Jean-Sebastien Giguere says the team has no excuse if it underachieves the rest of the way. “Everybody should know the system. If you don’t know, then ask the coach,” said Giguere, who also suggested his teammates should consult captain Scott Niedermayer. “Right now there are no more excuses.”
