I would like to warn all Asian travelers about my recent experiences in France, the Netherlands and Italy. I am Asian but not Chinese or Japanese, and my traveling companion and I were heckled with “Ching-Chong,” konnichiwa (Japanese for “how are you?”) and ni-hao (Chinese for hello). This happened in restaurants, museums and even on the street. And it is completely acceptable. There is no need to waste money in countries where you will be ridiculed and not be welcomed. Save your money for Asia.
