A 75-year-old Fullerton woman was convicted Thursday of felony hit-and-run driving for killing an 89-year-old woman in a church parking lot, prosecutors said.
Ana Maria Torres was driving away from St. Joseph Catholic Church in Placentia in August 2007 when she hit Jessie Pound as the victim walked across the street. Torres ran over Pound and fled the scene, prosecutors said. Torres later lied to police, telling them she attended an earlier Mass and walked home. She faces a maximum four years in state prison.
