Times Wire Reports
A man and two teenagers pleaded not guilty in what authorities describe as the racially motivated beating of an elderly black fisherman.
Attorneys for Calvin Lockner, 28; Emmanuel Miller, 16; and Zachary Watson, 17, entered the pleas in Baltimore Circuit Court. A trial for the three is set for Dec. 11.
Police say the three beat James Privott, 76, last month as he fished in south Baltimore. Lockner, who is nicknamed “Hitler” and has a tattoo of the Nazi leader, told police the attack wouldn’t have happened if the victim had been white.
