Steve Nash of the Los Angeles Lakers has bought a house in Manhattan Beach for $4.8 million.
Built in 1992, the three-bedroom, four-bathroom home has 4,175 square feet of living space. The long, narrow house features a two-story entry, an indoor waterfall and a three-stop dumbwaiter.
All that will soon be changing, however. The point guard plans to tear down the dated-looking house and build new.
Nash, 40, started with the Phoenix Suns in 1996 as a first-round draft pick. The feisty point guard moved to the Dallas Mavericks and returned to the Suns before landing with the Lakers two years ago. An apt free-throw and three-point shooter, he has received multiple Most Valuable Player and All-Star honors from the National Basketball Assn. Injuries sidelined Nash for much of this season.
Jack Gillespie of South Bay Brokers was the listing agent. Cynthia de Garceau of Watermark Properties represented Nash.
