A pair of homes in the 90210 ZIP Code and a Pasadena Revival designed by a noted local architect were among the top sales in the greater Los Angeles area this past week.
$8.5 million, Beverly Hills
Sited on a promontory in Trousdale Estates, this property is highlighted by a flat lot of more than an acre and expansive 270-degree views. A gated drive leads down to the existing 5,877-square-foot home, built in the 1960s. Aaron Kirman of John Aaroe Group was the listing agent. Adam Rosenfeld of Matrix Realty represented the buyer.
$7.325 million, Beverly Hills
A chrome gate marks the entrance to this contemporary-style residence on more than half an acre in Trousdale Estates. The 1960s home counts a semi-circle pool and a free-flowing floor plan among its features. Walls of floor-to-ceiling glass center on downtown and ocean views. Rachel Maslan of Hilton & Hyland, an affiliate of Christie’s International Real Estate, handled both sides of the transaction.
$6.95 million, Pasadena
This Georgian Colonial Revival-style home centers on views of the San Gabriel Mountains from a 1.14-acre bluff in Pasadena’s Salvia Canyon. Expanded to 10,483 square feet in 2002, the two-story home is distinguished by its large formal spaces, custom built-ins and a country-style chef’s kitchen. A tennis court, a pool and spa and a pool house are among the exterior features. Michael Maloney and Erin Maloney of Keller Williams Realty had the listing. Susan Mohr of Partners Trust Real Estate Brokerage & Acquisitions was the selling agent.
$5.3 million, Pacific Palisades
Found in the Via de la Paz Bluffs area, the newly built residence by Huntington Estate Homes came to market in late January and closed sale a little over three weeks later for $200,000 less than the original ask. Built in Cape Cod-style, the 6,300-square-foot home features a chef’s kitchen, a movie theater, six bedrooms and six bathrooms. Anthony Marguleas of Amalfi Estates was the listing agent. Cynthia Bouza represented the buyer.
$4.773 million, Pasadena
This 1940s Colonial Revival-style home in southeast Pasadena came to market in early January and sold for about the asking price in under a month. Designed by architect William S. McCay, the east and west wing of the home is bridged by a galleria. Hedged by a privacy fence and gated drive, grounds of more than half an acre contain a formal garden, walking paths and a pool. Jeannette Muirhead of Podley Properties had the listing.
