It seemed a premise too crazy to succeed: Washington Irving’s Ichabod Crane re-imagined as a member of George Washington’s army awakens in 21st century and teams up with a local police officer to battle the Horseman he rendered headless, who turns out to be but one of the famous equestrian heralds of the Apocalypse.
But where a less well-written show would have collapsed under the weight of ghosties, ghoulies and long-legged beasties, “Sleepy Hollow” became the surprise hit of the fall, thanks, in large part, to the depth and often hilarious chemistry of Tom Mison’s Ichabod and Nichole Beharie’s Lt. Abbie Mills.
On break from filming “Sleepy Hollow’s” second season, Mison and Beharie will visit The Times studio on Monday at noon PDT to discuss their adventures as TV’s newest power couple. Questions will be asked -- about the creepiest and funniest moments spent battling the forces of darkness, the real nature of their characters’ relationship, the joys of working with John Noble and the peril of skinny jeans.
Who knows, we might even get them to reveal hints about what’s to come in the show’s fabulous mash-up of history and horror.
Send us your questions as well via Twitter at #asklatimes, and we’ll see you on Monday.
