Star Wars Day celebrations include a duet by J.J. Abrams and ‘Hamilton’s’ Lin-Manuel Miranda

It's May 4, meaning it's time for everyone's favorite pun-based holiday, Star Wars Day. Built around the date's similarity to the franchise catchphrase "May the Force be with you," fans of the series are being given their first opportunity to celebrate the films since "Star Wars: The Force Awakens" was released on DVD last month.
Online, "Star Wars"-related content has ranged from good to great to completely bizarre. Here are a few of our favorites, starting with an iconic image from the official "Star Wars" Instagram account.
Also sharing the love on Instagram was Daisy Ridley, who starred as Rey on "The Force Awakens." Ridley shared a number of photos on her account, including this sweet shot of her and costar John Boyega.
Ridley also starred in a video shared on behalf of Star Wars: Force for Change, a charitable initiative from Lucasfilm and Disney that works to raise money to better the lives of children worldwide.
She is joined in the video by several "Star Wars" friends and even receives a gift from an absent Boyega.
As for Boyega, while shooting is underway for the eighth "Star Wars" film, the Old Vic Theatre announced Wednesday that he would star in "Woyzeck" during its 2016-2017 season.
Boyega, for his part, shared this gem with fans to celebrate.
The director of "The Force Awakens," J.J. Abrams, also got into the swing of things, joining "Hamilton" mastermind Lin-Manuel Miranda for a live version of the pair's song from the film's cantina scene, "Jabba Flow."
Once the celebrations ventured beyond celebrations directly connected to the series, things started to get a little more hit or miss.
This gif of BB-8 utilized by "Good Morning America" is very cute.
Fellow Disney-owned subsidiary ESPN fared less well in its "Star Wars" tribute, opting to honor the best college football players that wore the number 4, which is certainly one way to recognize the series.
Meanwhile, Google Play showcased its street cred by asking fans what their favorite "Star Wars" film was, outside of "The Empire Strikes Back," because obviously that is a superior film in all ways.
Google Play is also featuring the work of "Star Wars" composer John Williams, as well as some of the classic moments from the series' score.
Online grammar checker Grammarly opted to stoke the flames of the "Star Wars" vs. "Star Trek" rivalry by analyzing which fandom had better grammar. (Spoiler: It's "Star Trek." Maybe "Star Wars" fans should brush up with our "Star Wars" style guide.)
Finally, no holiday, real or otherwise, would be complete without awkward co-opting by brands on Twitter. Because when you think about "Star Wars," you think of sandwiches.
And paint.
And soup. Nothing says "May the fourth be with you" more than feeding your kids a hearty bowl of cream of BB-8 soup.
Yet nothing the Internet could offer was quite as jaw-dropping as the "Star Wars" inspired poster for the next installation of Syfy's "Sharknado" series, entitled "Sharknado: The 4th Awakens."
Pack it up, everyone. "Sharknado" killed Star Wars Day.
