If you want to see just where those jokes on IFC’s “Portlandia” about “putting a bird on it” came from, take a look at the Renegade Craft Fair this weekend. And while you’ll surely see all sorts of screened and embroidered images of owls and sparrows on useful and decorative items being sold by individual artisans in against a backdrop of food trucks, what you’ll also see is genuine, DIY artistry in jewelry, clothing and crafts that won’t only inspire you to buy a few things, it might send you on a path of putting a bird on some creations of your own as well. L.A. State Historic Park, 1245 N .Spring St. Sat.-Sun., 11 a.m. -7 p.m. Free. https://www.renegadecraft.com.
