Those who want to be star-centric in their holiday DVD/Blu-ray gift giving have a trio of fine compilations to chose from.
For viewers who still thrill to visions of the old West, Warner Bros. offers the “John Wayne Westerns Film Collection,” a five-disc Blu-ray collection that includes classics such as “Fort Apache,” “The Searchers” and “Rio Bravo.”

Clint Eastwood did some pretty fair westerns in his day, and examples like “High Plains Drifter” and “”Joe Kidd” are included in “Clint Eastwood: The Universal Pictures Seven Film Collection,” but the real treat here is Don Siegel’s “Coogan’s Bluff,” a modern tale about a western sheriff chasing bad guys in Manhattan.
Biggest actor collection by far is CBS Home Entertainment’s “I Love Lucy: The Complete Series,” which uses 33 discs to display all 194 episodes. Wow.
