Animal Practice: After a sneak peek last month, this sitcom starts its regular run with Justin Kirk as a New York veterinarian who has an unorthodox style and a penchant for hitting on his clients (8 p.m. NBC).
The Middle: Mike (Neil Flynn) accidentally reveals who his favorite child is in the season premiere of the family comedy (8 p.m. ABC).
Guys With Kids: When Chris (Jesse Bradford) throws a barbecue to introduce everyone to his new girlfriend (Eva Amurri Martino), Nick (Zach Cregger) realizes he has a past with the her in this new episode (8:30 p.m. NBC).
Criminal Minds: When an escaped convict in Texas leaves a trail of murder victims with their mouths sewn shut, Rossi (Joe Mantegna) and his colleagues realize they’ve dealt with this killer before. Jeanne Tripplehorn joins the cast in the season premiere (9 p.m. CBS).
Law & Order: Special Victims Unit: Paget Brewster appears in the season premiere. Mariska Hargitay, Dann Florek and Ice-T are joined by guest stars from last season’s finale reprise their roles, including Laura Benanti, Pippa Black, Peter Jacobson, Ron Rifkin, Brooke Smith and Dean Winters (9 p.m. NBC).
Modern Family: Jesse Tyler Ferguson, Eric Stonestreet, Sofia Vergara and Ed O’Neill star in the season premiere (9 p.m. ABC).
The Neighbors: In this new sitcom Debbie and Marty Weaver (Jami Gertz, Lenny Venito) move their family into a gated community only to learn that all the other residents aliens are from the planet Zabvron. (9:30 p.m. ABC).
CSI: Crime Scene Investigation: In the season premiere the team searches for D.B. Russell’s (Ted Danson) granddaughter who was kidnapped in last season’s finale (10 p.m. CBS).
Top Chef Masters: The two remaining chefs are challenged to create a dish based on a love letter, an apology, a thank-you note and a letter to themselves, in the season finale (10 p.m. Bravo).
South Park: The kids play football in the season premiere (10 p.m. Comedy Central).
SPORTS
Baseball: The Dodgers visit the San Diego Padres (3:30 p.m. FS Prime); the Seattle Mariners visit the Angels (7 p.m. FSN)
