The Rose Parade is passing by for Bob Eubanks and Stephanie Edwards.
The veteran broadcasting team announced Friday morning that the 2016 parade in Pasadena will be the last they will cover for KTLA-TV Channel 5, where they have been a fixture for nearly every year since 1982.
“We want to leave under our terms,” Eubanks, 77, told KTLA reporter Sam Rubin during a live news broadcast. “We want to leave when we’re on top and we certainly are. And it’s just time.”

Eubanks, the former host of the game show “The Newlywed Game,” added: “This is a decision we have made -- nobody else made that decision for us.”
“I realize I am tired of the sound of my own voice,” the 71-year-old Edwards added.
“We really did not get asked to leave,” she said, before adding: “This time.”
She was referring to the period around 2006, when Edwards was notoriously shunted to the sidelines -- at one point reporting in the rain -- while co-host Michaela Pereira reported in the booth alongside Eubanks. Before that, there were rumors of behind-the-scenes tensions between her and Eubanks, which both have downplayed.
Edwards later left the broadcast but returned in 2009.
KTLA has yet to announce who will be the new co-hosts. The station is owned by Tribune Broadcasting, which last year spun off Tribune Publishing, which owns the Los Angeles Times.
“Someone will come in to use those chairs” in the anchor booth, Edwards said. “We don’t know who it is.”
What do you think of Eubanks and Edwards? Will you catch their last parade?
