George Clooney on ‘Downton Abbey’? Just a sneak peek
- Share via
The upper crust Brits of “Downton Abbey” will be getting a visit from Hollywood’s A-list this holiday season when George Clooney appears at their doorstep.
Sadly for “Abbey” fans, Clooney isn’t in the show’s fifth season, which will air in the United States early next year. But he’s filmed a sketch with the “Abbey” cast for “Text Santa,” a three-hour charity fundraising program to air in the United Kingdom on ITV on Dec. 19.
No word yet on exactly who Clooney will be playing, but the plot draws heavy inspiration from the holiday classic “It’s a Wonderful Life.”
Lord Grantham (Hugh Bonneville), facing financial ruin, begins to wonder if his family would be better off without him. But then an unidentified “heavenly body” shows him just how much his presence means to those around him.
Anyone want to bet Clooney is an angel?
