Style films that packed a punch?

“Velvet Goldmine” (1998) Great for that glam rock look. [Pictured here.]

“Barry Lyndon” (1975) It was so chic. The highly stylized films are so inspirational to designers.

“Grey Gardens” (1975) [Little] Edie was so original in putting herself together. It’s very rare to find such determined style, and I love the way she carried her clothes.

“The Damned” (1969) Charlotte Rampling in that bias-cut gown. I will never forget that scene. I love “The Night Porter” too.

“Belle de Jour” (1967) Yves Saint Laurent did the costumes and it’s just incredible for style.

“Barry Lyndon” (1975) The costumes are so great.

“2001: A Space Odyssey” (1968) I love the way the whole movie looks. And the bizarre story.

“The Garden of the Finzi-Continis” (1970) That scene where they’re playing tennis and are all dressed up. It’s so beautiful. The clothes, the art direction.

“Death in Venice” (1971) There’s something uplifting about the story, and the way he dies is so beautiful.

“The Thomas Crown Affair” (1968) Everything fit. Steve McQueen looks great in those suits.
