The high-water mark for California home sales so far in 2009 has been set with the sale of a Beverly Hills mansion for $31.5 million.
The 27,000-square-foot French Normandy on 2 acres has 10 bedrooms, 14 bathrooms and seven fireplaces. The newly built home had been on the market for 255 days, according to the Multiple Listing Service, and had originally been listed at $45 million.
What does one get for the sale price? Three stories, a Richard Landry design, a glass-floored library over a 2,500-bottle wine cellar and a grand ballroom.
