Two men and a woman have been charged in connection with a string of robberies in the Antelope Valley in 2011 and 2012, authorities said Saturday.
The suspects – Marcus Robinson, 24, Mehealani Austin, 25, and Brooke Hollins, 22 – were arrested Wednesday in Palmdale and charged with more than 70 counts of armed robbery, kidnap for robbery and assault with a firearm, among other charges, according to the Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Department.
During the incidents, the robbers wore masks and forced business employees into back rooms to open safes, a department press release said.
After two years of investigation and surveillance, deputies from the department’s Lancaster station arrested the suspects. Deputies later recovered a firearm along with other evidence related to the crimes, the department said.
All three suspects are from Palmdale. They each are being held in lieu of $1 million bail, the department said.
