Bomb threat briefly shuts down LAX’s Tom Bradley Terminal

The Tom Bradley International Terminal at Los Angeles International Airport was briefly evacuated Thursday after police received a bomb threat.
President Obama was scheduled to depart from the Bradley terminal later in the day.
The threat was called in to Los Angeles police at about noon, said Officer Jane Kim. The international terminal was evacuated while authorities searched for any suspicious packages. Finding none they reopened the terminal at about 1:15 p.m., Kim said.
No arrests have been made. It also did not appear that the brief shutdown would affect the president’s schedule.
The last notable security action at the airport came in April, when San Francisco 49ers linebacker Aldon Smith allegedly mentioned having a bomb during a confrontation with Transportation Security Administration screeners.
Airport police caught up with Smith at the gate, where he became uncooperative and was then detained, Ortiz said. He was later booked on suspicion of making a false report of a bomb threat
The Los Angeles city attorney’s office declined to press charges in the incident.
