Chargers player gets probation for his role in San Diego bar fight

SAN DIEGO -- Chargers linebacker Thomas Keiser has been put on three years’ probation, fined $655 and ordered to stay away from a popular downtown bar after pleading guilty to misdemeanor battery involving a fight with a bar employee.
Keiser, 24, also was ordered to undergo 20 hours of anger-management counseling. He also cannot own a firearm for the next 10 years.
Keiser was arrested Dec. 29 just hours after the Chargers beat the Kansas City Chiefs, 27-24, to earn a playoff spot.
He was accused of fighting with an employee at Barleymash bar in the downtown Gaslamp Quarter. Keiser had gone to the bar with his father to celebrate the Chargers’ victory.
The sentence was meted out Monday in San Diego County Superior Court.
