An exchange of gunfire between two cars in South Los Angeles Saturday night left one man dead and another wounded, police said.
The shooting occurred at 7:47 p.m., at the intersection of Figueroa Street and El Segundo Boulevard. The driver who died continued north on Figueroa and collided with a parked vehicle north of 127th Street. His passenger fled.
The wounded man was in another car and left the scene. He called paramedics from his home and is being treated at a hospital. Police said he could either be a victim or a possible suspect.
Detectives are still sorting out the chain of events, said Los Angeles Police Sgt. Angela McGee.
The identities of the victim and the wounded man were not released.
