A man was killed Sunday when his motorcycle crashed in Lake Forest in Orange County, authorities said.
The unidentified victim, who was described as in his 30s, was riding with other motorcyclists southbound on Santiago Canyon Road between Falcon Street and Modjeska Grade Road when he crashed about 11:15 a.m., said Capt. Steve Concialdi of the Orange County Fire Authority.
No other vehicles were involved in the crash, he said. Orange County sheriff’s officials said in a statement that preliminary information indicated speed was a factor.
Emergency personnel who arrived on scene found the man seriously injured -- the crash had severed his foot from the rest of his leg, Concialdi said. The man died at the scene.
Santiago Canyon Road remained closed at the site of the crash while sheriff’s officials investigated.
