Reader photo: Leap of faith
For Chris Hall, a former teenage lifeguard, swim lessons are a rite of passage he associates with love and happiness – he met his future wife while teaching swimming at camp one summer.
When it came time to teach his daughter how to swim, he wanted to document her journey, “from floating to the joys of jumping through the air and landing in a warm pool.”
“There’s something universally sacred about our relationship with the water that parents, children, and even infants, seem to instinctively understand,” he said.
He took this photo of one of his daughter’s classmates’ leap of faith in the mid-Wilshire area on Nov. 17 as part of his series on swim lessons. He used a Canon EOS 5D Mark III.
