Reader Photo: An ocean escort

While on a sailboat with friends off Venice Beach last month, Austin Dixon spotted a pod of dolphins swimming right next to his group.
With his camera in hand, he snapped a photo of their fins.
“As the dolphins followed alongside our boat, they became a rhythmic part of our journey through the ocean,” he said.
Dixon made this image using a Canon EOS Rebel T5 with an 18-55 mm lens.
