Reader Photo: The calm in the bustling city

Alveraz Ricardez tries to hit the streets twice a week to capture the people and the moments of Los Angeles.
Last week, he was shooting in downtown L.A. when he spotted a gentleman with a bag walking on Broadway. Ricardez noticed the man’s calm demeanor, which differed from the rapid pace of the neighborhood.
“He was quiet and walked slowly, which contrasted the bustling city life around him,” Ricardez said. “I thought it was an interesting moment, so I tried to capture it.”
Ricardez made the image using a Fujifilm XT1 camera with a 27mm lens on Jan. 5.
