About 400,000 homes and businesses were without power across Michigan on Friday night due to severe weather.
According to DTE Energy, 350,000 customers do not have electricity because of a lightning storm with high winds. Hundreds of power lines were downed as a result of winds, some exceeding 60 mph, according to DTE Energy.
As many as 73,000 Consumer Energy customers are also without power due to the storms, the Detroit Free Press reports.
There is no estimated time given for power to be restored.
Crews are currently on 16-hour shifts around the clock in an attempt to restore power as fast as possible, according to DTE Energy.
