Los Angeles police scoured the neighborhoods near El Camino Real High Wednesday after a school police officer was shot in the chest. Authorities set up a wide perimeter while searching for the gunman, trapping thousands of residents inside. Nearby schools were locked down and parents were told to stay away until further notice.
