Letters: A bad deal on Olympic garb

Re “A fashion don’t,” Opinion, July 19
Given the prominent display of the Ralph Lauren “polo” logo on the jackets to be worn by the U.S. athletes at the opening ceremony of the 2012 London Games, it is the company that should be paying the U.S. Olympic Committee for the worldwide advertising from which it will benefit.
Given the prices charged by the company for the different garments, the members of the U.S. Olympic committee are poor negotiators.
