Letters: Say goodbye to Lake Tahoe

Re “Lake Tahoe given clear path to development,” Sept. 16
George Orwell would have been proud of this headline, as it is a perfect example of double-speak. It should have been written, “Lake Tahoe given clear path to destruction.”
The key statement in the article is this: “A revised plan will allow higher density and taller structures — the sort of glitzy development that California sought to curtail.”
Lake Tahoe is toast. Our pretty, dying planet is now overpopulated and our sheer numbers are going to kill everything, including ourselves. And the band plays on.
“Development?” Hah!
