Re “LAUSD teams again tops in U.S.,” April 27
There was once a “good news” newspaper that went belly up, presumably because readers want flash-dash-murder-mayhem. Was that the thinking of The Times when it decided not to feature this uplifting story on the front page?
Only four of the nine members of the El Camino Real Charter High School team that won this year’s national Academic Decathlon were pictured. What happened to the five others? Why not award the amazing students a full page with photos, accolades and the gratitude they deserve?
Doesn’t The Times realize these high school students from Los Angeles (that city where gangs and homicide get plenty of coverage) could very well inspire other teens to greatness?
