Letters: Google Glass concerns

Re “Google Glass sees all and that’s a worry,” Business, Aug. 11

Privacy in public is not the big issue with Google Glass; driving is. When it is available, people will use Google Glass while driving. Ban wearing the digital goggles while driving and make the fine for doing so sufficiently onerous that very few people will try.

In my 50 years of driving on L.A.’s freeways, I’ve seen it all: women applying eyeliner, a man playing the flute and much more. I was once sideswiped by a massive truck whose driver was talking on his cellphone.

There is ample evidence that any distraction while driving increases the chance of an accident. Imagine a person using Google Glass while driving. I even venture to say there will be more falls and broken bones for people walking while using this product.
