Intoxicating Rhythms

Some fine wines are best paired with cheese. Others with meat or fish. But there’s just one accompaniment that pairs perfectly with any fine wine: expertly played jazz.
From March 25 to 27, the Golden Nugget Hotel & Casino once again brings together these two refined delights at its third annual Spring Wine & Jazz Fest.
The three-day event kicks off Friday, March 25, with a poolside champagne and wine reception from 8 to 10 p.m. at the property’s world-renowned pool and shark aquarium, The Tank.
On Saturday, March 26, there’s a Grand Tasting in the Grand events center from 7 to 10 p.m., where enthusiasts can sample more than 200 selections from 50 prestigious California, Oregon and Washington wineries. Of course, there will be live jazz and exquisite cuisine from the Nugget’s award-winning chefs, as well.
Then, on Sunday, March 27, comes the Champagne and Jazz Brunch from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. in the Grand events center. Guests will enjoy live jazz and brunch offerings paired with sparkling wines from Domaine Chandon, Roederer Estates and Domaine Carneros. Brunch will be followed by a live auction featuring wine lots, large-format collector’s bottles and more.
Admission to all three days’ events, a $235 value, is $199 for guests who book in advance. Tickets to the poolside champagne and wine reception cost $35. Tickets to Saturday’s Grand Tasting are $100. Tickets to the brunch and auction cost $100.
