Traffic came to a crawl along Laguna Canyon Road after a truck caught fire Tuesday afternoon.
Laguna Beach police and fire personnel responded to reports of an automobile collision in the 1900 block at 3:15 p.m.
The driver of a 2015 Ford F150 truck, a 34-year-old San Juan Capistrano man, rear-ended another car and pulled to the side of the road to exchange information with the other driver, Sgt. Tim Kleiser wrote in an email.
Police said the truck’s air bag deployed and caught fire while the two drivers exchanged info. No one was injured and the fire did not spread, Fire Chief Jeff LaTendresse said.
The fire destroyed the truck and traffic on the road was reduced to one lane for an hour, Kleiser said.
