ISSUE: COUNTY BANKRUPTCY
Vote: 5-0
Summary: The board voted Tuesday to support a resolution approving
the county’s final reimbursement of district money that was lost in the
county’s 1994 bankruptcy.
At the time of financial breakdown, the district had $8.8 million
deposited in the county investment pool.
A court has determined that the district’s repayment claim against the
county bankruptcy is $909,904. Assistant Supt. Patricia Young said the
district will receive about $677,000 of the $909,904 repayment claim owed
by the county. The last payment will be distributed to the district will
be made Feb. 24.
ISSUE: SCHOOL ADMINISTRATOR WEEK
VOTE: 5-0
SUMMARY: The board dedicated March 6 through March 10 as the Week
of the School Administrator, as proclaimed by Gov. Gray Davis in
September.
Recruiting, training and evaluation are some of the key functions of the
administrative staff, said Assistant Supt. Michael Luker.
A copy of the resolution will be displayed at all schools.
