Huntington Beach residents Matt Englar-Carlson and Jeffrey A. and Ellen Kottler were among 37 professors at Cal State Fullerton honored for their publications in 2005.
Jeffrey Kottler was honored for three publications and was also a speaker at the seventh annual Author Awards Luncheon in April. A counseling professor, he was honored for his contribution to “On Being A Teacher: The Human Dimension,” (co-written with his wife), “The Client Who Changed Me: Stories of Therapist Personal Transformation,” “Their Finest House: Master Therapists Share Their Greatest Success Stories,” and “The Emerging Professional Counselor: Student Dreams to Professional Realities.” Ellen Kottler is a secondary education lecturer.
Englar-Carlson, an assistant professor of counseling, co-wrote “Health Promotion and Health Counseling: Effective Counseling and Psychotherapeutic Strategies.” The book deals with complementary and alternative medicine practice and the surgeon general’s 2010 directive.
